Japan Discount Airline Tickets

Japan's two main airlines, Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA), each offer Japan discount airline tickets to overseas visitors that can be used for significant savings on air travel within Japan.

oneworld Yokoso/Visit Japan Fare

The oneworld Yokoso/Visit Japan Fare, offered by Japan Airlines (JAL), provides a significant discount on domestic air travel within Japan. Up to five flights can be purchased at a cost of 10,000 per flight, plus tax.

The oneworld Yokoso/Visit Japan Fare is available only to foreign residents who fly into Japan on oneworld carriers. The ticket must be purchased in conjunction with the oneworld carriers international ticket, and is not on sale within Japan.

Welcome to Japan Fare

The Welcome to Japan Fare is also offered by JAL, and differs from the oneworld Yokoso/Visit Japan Fare mainly in that visitors may use any airline for their international flights to and from Japan. Up to five flights can be purchased at a cost of 13,000 per flight, plus tax.

Star Alliance Japan Airpass

The Star Alliance Japan Airpass is offered by All Nippon Airlines (ANA), and offers discount air travel within Japan to foreign residents who fly to Japan on Star Alliance Partner Carriers. Tickets must be purchased prior to arrival in Japan.

When using the Star Alliance Japan Airpass, from one to five coupons (flights) can be purchased at a cost of 11,000 yen per coupon, plus consumption tax. The coupons can be applied to air travel virtually anywhere within Japan.

Although most people immediately think trains when considering travel within Japan, as you can see there are Japan discount airline tickets available for cheap air travel within Japan as well!
